Zach and Jill Go To A Wedding….

The following is a series of images of what happens when there is open bar, live band and your friend’s professional wedding photographer to capture it all.

1. First things first.

Zach : “Oooooooh Jill, if we are going to dance, I need to touch your face first, hold on tight.”

Jill: “I’ll never let go”

2. “We seriously sound better than the band, here…. let’s harmonize… I’ll take the top, you cover the bottom”

“Should we start a husband wife singing duo?”

“Are we the next Tim and Faith?”

Needless to say, we had a great time at Megan and Austin’s wedding.

So, it didn’t JUST happen… but happened it did.

So might as well make it blog official.

In 11 months, I’ll be a wife. And if it’s anything like being a girlfriend and now a fiancee to this guy- I have a feeling I will be a very happy wife indeed.

Here’s how it went down:

(because if he thinks ahead and has the proposal filmed… you gotta put your iMovie skillz to work)

Did I mention I moved to California?

Yeah… I did that

About 3.5 months ago.

I also got myself a nice roommate, one who I really like and have had a major crush on for about 2.75 years now!

So, the manfriend and I live in SoCaL… and now we are like SO SoCAL… brah. We surf like everyday, only eat fish tacos, kale and quinoa and stopped wearing real clothes- just rainbow flip flops and board shorts. I do yoga on the reg and I am completely adjusted to this traffic, it’s now becoming enjoyable. We’ve made so many friends- in fact I’m having lunch with Heather DuBrow next week (please tell me you watch bravo) oh and both of us are rocking some SERIOUS tans… because we’ve always tanned easily with this creamy, freckly skin of ours.

That or…

We’ve been to the beach a handful… make that a small handful of times, have been working a lot, I cry because there are so many more bugs here and in our house (see spider story), I now really understand how people can become violent and “road ragey” (believe me, I never knew my emotions had the capability and sincere anger toward strangers on the I-5), and have barely had any time together to be friends with each other… let alone actually be social and meet people. Okay okay, now that the rants over. And, we did meet some friends- they just happen to be 40 years older than us… Zach, maybe we need to go to more bars.

HOWEVER- it’s nothing short of Absolutely Fu&*&ing GORGEOUS here, I mean really. I am constantly shocked that I get to drive by the ocean… every day.

Each day we are becoming more and more ‘settled’ and I have to say, I feel incredibly lucky and excited for the new escapades as a Californians and feeling more and more like the people below. See real reference HERE

Stay tuned for more!… no need to apologize for not posting for… forever.

A post! A post! A real Blog Post! (and a video)

Admittedly, it’s been a while.

I’ve been SOOOOO BUSY (to be said in hyperbolic drama queen voice).

Actually, I’ve just been neglecting this blog. So much going on, so much news.

But, I figured I could kick off this post {and hopefully some subsequent posts} with a video so you can see how busy i’ve been and how I’ve been doing amazing, productive, important things. I mean I fee like I’m really just taking the world by storm. In fact just a few months ago-my sister and I had a deep, meaningful and cerebral conversation….

This. Is. My. Life

Ok, so… maybe no more videos for a while :)

Until next time,

Jill O'Driscoll

Toast is my favorite food… Ever.

It also happens to be the name of the super awesome health blog that we (as in my work) are launching today on behalf of Carson Tahoe Women’s Health Institute.

Check it out why don’t ya?

I mean- there’s nothing like it in this area I live in, and especially nothing as cute as it!

Ok ok, enough with the bragging!

However- Toast is constantly looking to feature some fine Nevada peeps…

If you blog and would like to be featured on Toast- let me know- I can make that kind of stuff happen.

So… I had a birthday

, , ,

You know how there are some people who dread their birthday? They don’t like attention on them, they don’t like that they are another year older, etc.

I’m not one of those people.

I happen to LOVE my birthday, it’s the one day when really, you can be surrounded by those you want to and love most… And who doesn’t like cake? And eating whatever you want? And random birthday wishes from someone you haven’t seen or talked to in about 3 years on Facebook?

This birthday… 26. Was really one for the books. What was supposed to be a casual drink with friends, transformed in to a surprise party complete with amazing birthday video- coordinated by my lovely and talented sister, you may remember from this and this post… and edited by my Oh-So-Good-At-Things-Like-Editing-Videos cousin, Brian.

That night was then followed by dinner, dancing, laughing, a trip to San Fran with the girls and ended on my real birthday (Sunday) with an awesome dinner with more family and friends made by Boyfriend The Great, Zachary.

To all who participated and who let me occupy a part… or all of your weekend to celebrate my mother giving birth to a 10.4 pound bebe (sorry mom),

It means more to me than you know that you were there drinking, dancing, eating, celebrating and laughing… like really… there was a reason I was in happy tears most of the weekend.

Oh and here’s the AWESOME video I’ve probably watched about a thousand times…

If I had a million dollars…

This post is happening because I have this Barenaked Ladies Song in my head, I guess I could participate with one of the most quintessential Canadian bands of the late 90’s and early 00’s…

If I had a million dollars… well lets just face it- If I had say ten thousand dollars…

-I would pay off my dental bill… dental hygiene and preventative measures are NO JOKE

-I would put a down payment on a car… that doesn’t take $70.00 a week to fill up

-I would cook a fancy dinner… and invite guests… maybe even you :)

-I would donate to a worthy charity… no, really. I would.

-I would go on a weekend trip … to a place I’ve never been.

-I would put it into savings… well, I would consider putting it in savings.

Ok this is getting whiny…

If I had five dollars…

– I would buy 4 Cashew & Ginger Spice KIND bars from Raley’s- HOLY AMAZING

-I would buy something from the dollar store and look up a cool craft that to do with it online… (and then probably start it. finishing it? that’s an entirely different beast.)

-I would get a new car air freshener… or yummy fall scented candle and try really hard to make sure I remember to not leave it burning all day.

-I would bake some rice crispy treats (typing while hungry)

-I would carve a pumpkin… (which I am hosting a pumpkin carving party in 2 weeks… {and how do you do, Fall?} : )

OR I could do what I actually did with $5.00 today, buy a Skype “Day Pass” for a conference call… only for it not to work.

Oh… and I haven’t posted a picture in a while

I chose this to remind me that sometimes looking like I work at TGIFridays with the amount of “Pack Flair” I decided to wear-  isn’t always necessary.

FlairDeJill errrr Go Wolfpack.

That moment when…

It’s a Thursday night and you casually meet your family for a glass of wine… and dinner… and more wine at your house.

Oh, and you leave your car in the parking lot of the shopping center where you originally met up because you can just walk there in the morning, and hey!, grab a Starbucks on the way.

Perfect Plan. SO the next morning that’s what I did… ordered my drink, picked up my car, went home, got ready and looked in the mirror for the first time that morning…

Purple Wine Teeth, Purple Wine Lips and Purple Wine Mustache (yes, to me those are proper nouns).

I’m sure the baristas and people in line were amused…
